VBH At 40

This July, VBH celebrated its 40th year. A hardware specialist now for over four decades, we are proud to have reached such a fantastic milestone as a company. With the continued support of our customers and loyal employees, we have continued to grow our product range while our commitment to quality window and door furniture has remained strong. Happy birthday VBH!

From humble beginnings, VBH has grown into a nationally recognised brand. Expanding to include our own greenteQ brand of hardware and our unique Q-secure guarantee, VBH has made its mark in the market. We are proud to offer an unmatched standard of customer service, providing our expertise to all our customers. Our team has a wealth of industry and product knowledge.

The History

Originally VBH supplied British fabricators direct from Germany. This was headed up by Peter Kinze of VBH group company Heinz Wagner (GB) Ltd, who persuaded the board that they needed to capitalise on the growing UK market. It was at that point the move was made across the water. Peter recruited two industry specialists, Graham Organ and Barry Amey, to open Heinz Wagner (GB) Ltd in Rochester in July 1982.

The first product lines to be introduced were some of Europe’s favourites, including CES, Gege and Fuhr. Although many of these have since disappeared from our collection, some, such as Roto and Deventer, remain. The company name was changed to what we know now as VBH (GB) in 2009. A milestone year for the company; it was also when our very own greenteQ brand was launched!

Some of the longest standing employees include Commercial Manager Robb Crampton, who joined in 1984, as well as Lesley Mills and Lee Pollard, who were part of the class of 1985. They have seen huge growth within the company as VBH has expanded from a distributor of quality hardware to a hardware manufacturer in its own right. Our new product development team continue to make sure the brand grows.

We want to thank all our employees and customers for their hard work over the past four decades; we couldn’t have done it without you all!
