The Q-Bolt door lock has proved a big hit with door manufacturers both within the UK and beyond. The Q-Bolt multi-point door lock range offers secure locking solutions for single and double doors in all materials. Q-Bolt locks have a 2200 x 16mm faceplate and feature three strong hooks for security and two outboard rollers for compression adjustment. The outer hooks are 1190mm apart. There are serrated teeth on the rear drive train to allow the fitting of top and bottom shootbolts if desired. VBH always recommends fitting shootbolts on both leaves of a double door. At 1190mm centres, the hooks and rollers provide the optimum spacing between the centre hook to the outer hooks and then again from the outer hooks to the shootbolts.
Of course, there is also a Q-Bolt for composite doors. This 45mm backset lock has a 2040 x 20mm radiused end faceplate, with 2 outer hooks at 1440mm centres in addition to a central hook. This lock features a true split spindle follower so can be used for lever/lever or lever/pad operation. The lock has a latch hold-back snib to protect against accidental lock out. The Q-Bolt should be operated by un-sprung door handles such as the greenteQ Alpha or Coastline stainless steel series.
